What setting for turbo d16z6?
Hi, I have pretty much a stock d16z6 setup!
How many PSI should I go for? How much hp can I get? (daily driven)
Which point should I set the Vtec and Rev Limit values?
Is there anything I should have besides the list below?
Thank you for your time!
1. 94 D16z6 SOHC Vtec Engine (from a Civic Si) (70k miles)
2. 92 DX tranny w/ 95 Delsol Si Vtec Gears and final drive (40k miles)
3. 60mm Throttle body
4. Ported z6 intake manifold, ported plentum to 62mm
5. Blue NGK spark plug wires
6. Denso Irideum spark plugs
7. MSD 6al ignition
8. B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator
9. B&M Fuel Pressure Gauge
10. P28 Vtec ECU
11. Uberdata
12. Custom Turbo Manifold
13. 16g Turbo
14. oil feed line
15. oil Return Line
16. BOV
17. Walbro255 fuel pump
18. 440cc injectors
19. cold air intake
20. test pipe (no cat)
Added: Getting FMIC

well all that stuff is kinda like cosmetic stuff . . . inside it's still basically like a stock motor since there is no internals, so most I would go is 10psi. I as boosting 10psi creeping to 12psi daily on my stock d16z6 with 140k on it, and I never had a problem either . . . . not to mention it was self tuned.
If you got a good tune you can maybe go a little higher, but I would just stop at 10psi

get some different sparkplugs. if im not mistaken the ones you have are not colder ones, and for safety i would get 6 or 7 heat range rather than the probable 5 that your plugs are. there are a few sohcvtec maps for uberdata floating around, so id prolly look into using one of those as your basemap to start off of. 10 psi or less should be safe, if your motor is healthy prior to turbo install. i would leave vtec close to stock setting, and for the rev limit, id leave stock or maybe raise a little. im gonna raise mine alot, cause my tach dont work over 6000rpm and i have skunk2 valvesprings, so id rather take the chance floating a valve then hitting fuel cut, going lean instantly and blow my **** up.
edit- if you can set an ignition cut with that msd, i would definately do that. set the ignition cutout for like 7200 and fuel cutout on the uberdata at like 7500, so that way you cut spark before fuel cuts out, should be safer that way
