What rod would you guys use for a built motor?
Looking into building my next motor (straight gsr this time). Trying to decide which rod I would like to use. I think I narrowed it down to the big 3. Pauter, Manley, and Carillo.
I havent looked into it deeply yet as far as weights/specs go, but Im not going with an aluminum or titanium. This is going to be street driven and on a budget.......unless someone wants to sponsor me
What do you like and why?

Pauter is what i like overall better in crower in that the crowers sleeves would wear out same with eagle at specific internal. The pauther however are proven and many people have used them with great success. AT 695.00 a set its not abd at all

If money is not an issue then go for
Cunningham Rods or Carillo Rods . They can be custom made. They are all good, but rods alone don't make the car go fast.

i dont see why you say that. my eagle's came with new 3/8 arp bolts and are tested up to 900 hp. you say it is street driven and on a budget, so I am gunna assuming you are going to have no more than 400 whp if its street driver, and if you are on a budget, eagle will let u be able to spend more on something like hondata or tuning.

I meant budget as in no aluminum or titanium rods---aluminum wont last in a street motor, titanium is ummmm expensive. Like I said, Eagle are Ok but I want better. Money spent will never go towards hondata Im EMS equipped.

I would go with Pauter. Wait a sec.. I did go with Pauter.
I cant recall anyone breaking or bending a Pauter rod. The X-beam construction is pretty strong. I would sacrafice a little weight for more strength.

its heavier rod thats for sure. but the pauter will not let you down. Ask earl and tony they both have run them with great sucess. I used one set as well never broke or bent it.

I'm building motors now with Rocket's Rods. Very good quality, and very affordable.
