what reinforcements needed or for supercharged obd1 GSR
I just bought a 1995 GS-R with 91,000 I already have I/H/E and want more power. I am considering rebuilding the engine at 100,000 miles with some mild head work, and rods/pistons considering a c/r of 10.5:1. I want to then supercharge it, would this set-up be worth the money or should i just spray or go turbo? What all would I need to do to the head? any suggestions would be great thanks a lot...

Re: what reinforcements needed or for supercharged obd1 GSR (blackout95teg)
how much money do you want to spend total?
you're talking 6-8k right there...for somwhere around 230hp with a SC.

Re: what reinforcements needed or for supercharged obd1 GSR (NOT EVIL falconGSR)
I was thinking more like 3-4 grand, I didn't realize it would be nearly double, I guess what I am truly looking for is a low 13 second daily driven Gsr, thats reliable.
any suggestions?

How about you keep the intake, swap whatever header you have out for a Kamikaze, get a 2.5'' Carsound cat, and a well flowing exhaust. Run a compression test...if all comes up well, slap the Jackson on and run 8psi all day. Hondata tuned which is a MUST, ive seen 240whp no problem and a car that is a blast to drive on the street. Put your buildup money towards the Jackson and Tuning.

You don't need any work on the enternal engine parts to supercharge up to 10 psi. Just get some larger injectors and some aort of fuel and timing management. There are a lot of choices. Just Search, search, search. Hondata is not a "must", but since you are OBDI it wouldn't be too expensive.
BTW you can save a lot of money by buying a used blower. Keep an eye on the classifieds here and at the "forced induction integra" forum at hostboard.com. Jackson Racing superchargers are warrantied for 100,000 miles.
Goos luck and let us know how it utrns out.

Re: what reinforcements needed or for supercharged obd1 GSR (fredtoast)
would it be safe to SC with my current motors mileage? right now its a 91.3 k
i want to sell my current Greddy exhaust for a apexi N-1 catback. who makes the kamikaze header? with 8-10 psi would that be enough to get me in the low 13's?

I had over 100k on my engine before I rebuilt it, and it was a fluke (injector failure). Kamikaze is the brand of header, and with 10psi I can see you easily in the low 13's. About the Hondata, it of course isnt a must but after having the Jackson FMU, and then going to HONDATA it might as well be, the performance difference is night and day.
