Default What readings would a bad o2 sensor give?

I have had some problems with my PLX reading all funky. I bought it from a person who used it in his DD for about 4k miles. I thought my readings were from a bad ground but I now have power and ground off the ecu wires (a23 and 24).

I took the o2 sensor out of the car, turned the car on, let the sensor warm up. When it warms up the reading I get is lean (I have added fuel to the map and it falls on its face from being so rich, but yet the sensor still reads lean, ontop of that, the car is 80% tuned. Only some fine tuning part throttle needs to be finished).

When I took the sensor out and it read lean I sprayed some canned/compressed air on it. As I would spray it would go down to about 14:1 maybe a bit lower but as soon as i turn the air off it would slowely make its way back up to LEAN.

IM guessing it has to be the o2 sensor. Any other ideas?

Yep that's exactly what mine did when it went out. First check for huge exhaust leaks. Don't worry the sensor is fairly cheap at around $40 chipped at VWdealer.com
