What parts to replace for high milage turbo engine
My del sol d16z6 has 144,000 miles on it right now. it also has a greddy turbo kit at 5 or 6psi. i was wondering what all i should replace engine wise. I was thinking water pump and timing belt? Do you think these need changed at all, and what else do you recommend. BTW- i have the VAFC hack right now

Oil change/filter(if it needs it), plugs, wires, timing belt, outside belts, coolant flush, water pump, valve cover gasket, and oil pan gasket if its leaking... when was your last timing belt replace? You should do it every 90,000 miles!

not a replacement part, but remember to adjust the valves. Also check all the front seals and the rear main. How are your engine mounts. IF they are stock and have 144 on them you probably would benefit from at least new stock ones.

Re: What parts to replace for high milage turbo engine (Bailhatch)
I have had all my stuff done at the honda factory ( my parents work there )
1. replaced engine mount at 111,370 miles
2. fuel filter changed at 123,997 miles
3. lots of other small stuff but nothing big
i got the car at 99,000 miles and the timing belt was suppose to be changed at 90k. I'm not sure if the kid b4 me changed it or not. How can i check it?

I bought my Civic with 85k on it. I had no idea of the maintenance before me. I put another 20k on it and my Timing Belt snapped.
Go change yours right now...

Re: (T-RO)
my compression was checked b4 i put the turbo on, it was all +- 3 psi around 184.
i looked at my papers tonight and honda replaced the timing belt in 2000 with 103,436 miles on it. my car now has 144,000 miles. should i worry about it or not. I wonder if the turbo causes any extra stress on the timing belt.

Re: (Del_Slowest)
I would run it for a while longer. I try and use mine for no longer than 70k. They only cost like $20 and can be replaced quickly with the water pump and tensioner if you want.

Re: (Bailhatch)
on a high mileage boosted motor, i would do another compression check, a leakdown check, and replace the water pump and timing belt if you dont know if it's been changed or not (if you have 144k on it, chances are it has been)
and it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to check or replace the rod bearings.
