Icon2 What oil would you guy's run in this setup?

Need to know which oil/weight to run in my new setup. I bought the car used , the motor has 5,000 miles on it. here are the specs: I assume using a OEM Honda filter will be fine? I have no idea where to start on oil or how much of a difference it will make. Thanks guys.

darton MID sleeves w/o-rings
CP 9:1 84mm pistons
eagle rods
acl bearings

Is the engine built to OEM spec or "racing" spec (loose tolerances)?

Mine is the latter and I'm running Bran Penn 10W-40.

I agree. Brad Penn "Green oil" 10w-30. It have a very high ZDDP (Zinc) content good for the turbocharger's bearing systems.

That or rotella t6
Oil viscosity choice really depends on bearing clearances, climate, and purpose of the motor

Are there 2 types of the Brad Penn Oil? Or do they only make one type?

the 5w40 might be too thin for some people, viscosity selection is decided by bearing clearances and oil pressure with those clearances...

given the heat put into the chra by exhaust gasses, the minimum i would use is 10w30... ive seen lighter weight oil breakdown inside a turbo, given it cant handle the maximum tempx

ahh did not know that about the "green oil". i was using castrol 10w-40 and adding some lucas break in additive for its zinc, but recently switched to rotella 15w-40. my bearing tolerances are all around .002"

BP's website says absolutely nothing about a version that isn't "partial synthetic" or a "race version" and this is the first ive heard of it.

I hadn't either until recently. I always read full synthetic anyway.
