what oil for a build motor with a good piston to wall clerance
SUP:
after I got my build motor finally run ,it was burning execive amount of oil I didnt have a clue what was the problem .. I did the break in prossces ( run it really hard)
for about a week or so, had complains on my neighborhood ) anyways .. the diference betwen piston to wall is about 00035 or something I'am using srp 81.5 mml 9.1 pistons
from what I read these pistons contain a 15 % of silicone wich at extremely temperature they tend to expand so u need a good clerance btween piston and wall so my motor at idle burn lots and lots of oil to the point that when I leave it at idle on my garage for a few minutes u would be blind bc of the smoke
so I was thinking what kind of oil could I use in order to lower the amount of oil being burned .. probably synthetic ? ?
any help comment will be appreciated
thanks in advance

Re: what oil for a build motor with a good piston to wall clerance (EGSR)
i was under the impression that SRP pistons want tighter piston to wall clearance because they expand LESS than most other forged pistons.
what exactly was done with the block? was it a complete bore and hone with new pistons and rings?
and who on earth told you to drive it hard right when you just had the engine built.....kick them in the nuts.
you should never drive a freshly built motor hard unless its being properly tuned........chances are you washed the cylinder down with to much fuel and the rings didn't seat. or it ran very lean and the pistons scuffed up the cylinder walls.
pull it apart and see whats going on.

Re: what oil for a build motor with a good piston to wall clerance (non-VTEC)
i did allready tear it appart and everithing seems to be in perfect conditions compression test show 180 psi all they way like I said no damage was done to the pistons or wall ....
the block was prepared when i bore it out to 81.5 mml
