What is the next best turbo to a T3/T04 B or E? Please help I am buying soon.
The motor is a stock B16 and I'm looking for 260-270 WHP. I will use it for drag racing. Please give me your suggestions. I don't think a regular T3 or a T25 will be good enough.

T3T40E .63 ar .57 trim
Thats what I run on my b16a.
I used to have a t3 .48 ar .42 trim and it spooled fast but lost power above 5,500rpm.
The t3t4 spools fast and makes lots of power up to redline.From what i hear this turbo should support 350whp.
Btw i have not had it on a dyno yet (will in about 2 weeks) but at 7psi with the t3t4 the car pulls harder then it did at 10psi with the t3.
Thats what I run on my b16a.

Ohh sorry I am piecing this together. I don't want to spend $500 on a turbo. Seems like everyone has a T3/T4. I'm sure they work great but is there a less expensive avenue that would meet my HP goals?

You can try finding a used one, but in my oppinion it's not worth going with a junkyard turbo because most of them are small t-3's and will need to be rebuilt.
After having a t3 on my b16a and having a t3t4 (currently) i would never go back to a t3 unless it was a 60-1.
Look on e-bay for a used t3t4. I got mine from cheapturbo.com for $549 shipped..new

Definitely look on ebay. I got my t3/t04e on ebay for 260 + 15 for shipping. And it spins fine, I've been told by the guy that checked it. Talk about luck eh?

this guy has no idea what he is talking about. The reason why his t-3 lost power is because his oil drain came loose and he fried the turbo and then kept on using it. He now drives around with one of those electric blower fans in his intake and has a cd he burned with bov sounds on it so he can sound cool

I'm going to be using a Garrett GT3040 in a month or two but I am trying for 375WHP. You might want to look into that.

...Your just mad because everybody makes fun of your red civic hatch that still has all the molding,mirrors,and wiper(yes one single wiper) painted yellow.. along with a mustard yellow (because the local parts store didn't have the same yellow to match the rest of your car) racing stripes.Oh and i cant forget your "racing exhaust" that consists of removing everything from the cat back...
Now that this guy thinks i have no clue what i'm talking about, and not to mention everybody thinks i'm trying to sell a bad turbo now, i'll see you tomorrow, we'll duke it out after we pound a few

.....you can buy this time...... ... more than that every day and we both tried installing are turbos on the intake manifolds and by god it didn't work funny, but dead serious i'll get the pics of both our cars their actually geo storms with apc doulble deck gtr wings with t25 turbos, but they haul ***
