What mileage have you gotten out of your engine?
Hi members.
Would like to know what the mileage is what you got out of your turbo charged daily drive?
Your spec. And what went wrong? If something went wrong and troubles you faced?
And what do you think can be expected from your build?

I think the question you want to be asking is "How do I determine if my engine is healthy before I turbocharge it? Don't worry about how many miles are on someone else's setup since you aren't driving their cars.
Do a compression and leakdown test.

Something in the line of how long will a daily drive last that is faster most german cars.
What are usually the failing parts. Piston rings, bearings etc.
This is for curiosity and technical.

Yes I know but an accurate answer is not needed
Smaller cc engines might tent to pop faster than bigger cc engines?

C'mon fellas. He thinks this is a chatroom where you can discuss useless topics that serve no purpose other than to entertain the OP.

Hi members.

Really? What's the purpose for this? If I told you 300 miles to a tank, what purpose does it serve you? It all depends on the driver, how heavy your foot is, what kind of driving you do, etc. I just don't simply understand where you're going with this.
Your spec.
Well again, why? Are you trying or thinking of doing a build that is super fast but want great mileage?
And what went wrong?
Nothing went wrong, who said it's not running anymore?
If something went wrong and troubles you faced?
N/A
And what do you think can be expected from your build?
Well obviously when you go get tuned after your setup is complete, its tuned to what the motor gives and can handle safely.

You also mentioned it to be faster than most German cars, why, are they the only fast ones up to par out there? There are also American, and other Japanese built V6 and V8's out there.
I just wasted my time here! HA!

German cars think they are better than Jap cars and I do not like them for thinking that.
But yes this thread should be in a chat room I suppose.

I built my LSvtec in 06' with used parts and it is still running today making just over 300whp. The engine has over 60k miles on it and the average mpg is 28-36 depending on how many smiles per gallon I am having!

Thanks LS AzZkIkr!!
This is what I was looking for in general, and for other members to get confidence when they want to turbo charge their engine :D
It is nice to know these things.

OP, confidence comes from research, knowledge and experience. The best way to do this is to read all the build threads you can find, because they usually contain all the small issues that aren't planned for, and the solution to them.

Re: What mileage have you gotten out of your engine?
I had a bone stock d16z6 with arp head studs. I turbocharged it at 210,xxx miles. I daily drove that for 2 years at 12psi on a t3. I hit 12 psi at least half a dozen times a day and would do at least one 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear pull every day. I drove from Nashville tn to Youngstown Ohio, to new York, to Virginia, and back to Tennessee in 5 days. I paid close attention to routine maintenance. I pulled that motor out at 273,xxx to put in a built motor.
Built motor grenaded at 3,700 miles.
