stay around 300whp and you'll be fine...B20's dont really like boost too well in stock form. They have a tendency to crack sleeves.

This. I can see your 580s being pretty much used up by then.

The rule for injectors is 6cc per whp. If you use that method, the 580s are as follows:

580cc x 4inj = 2320cc (total)
2320 / 6cc per whp = 386.667whp at a 75-85% duty cycle

You can safely make up to 387whp on those injectors at stock fuel pressure. They technically CAN make more, but i wouldn't expect a lot more out of them.

Yeah, I figured I undershot it a little bit but it's better to do that with an injector than overshoot.

Curious though, how are you getting 75-85% duty cycle out of that? Is the 6cc/whp coming to that conclusion?

Its just a general rule based on what i've seen around. People used to base injector sizing on 5cc per bhp, but that's not a great measurement since you have to then guess at what whp you'll make. The 6cc per whp is not meant to be deadly accurate, but rather, give you a good idea where you should be about. If you're looking to size injectors and you hit your power goals within a little bit of the 6cc per whp range, its fine.

Basically its just an easy way to get in the ballpark..

Gotcha. Yeah, I've got my Maximum Boost book sitting here in my schoolbag with all of the calculations highlighted and tabbed.

Wasn't about to break it out just for this though. 6cc/whp is the first I've heard of it, good ****.

That's a good read...i still have yet to go through most of it, but i have a .pdf copy on my laptop. If i find some time, i'm going to incorporate it into a nice little write-up for the FI Forum (it'll be better than the G2IC Boost FAQ)

If you want help let me know. I read the book between classes in school a lot. The only problem I have is that the author focuses too much on psi being the hindering aspect of turbocharging an engine and not torque made or better yet a combination of both with turbo/intercooler efficiencies and all that stuff.

Otherwise, great book indeed.

Up to 300whp with a good tune...PSI is irrelevant. What more do you want?

Full 2.5" is fine. Seriously, a simple clean setup with what you have will do 300 no problem and be perfectly safe with a good tune.

x2...you'll be fine with a 2.5". You'd be better with a 3", but that's "ideal"
