Default What kind of steel to use for flanges on a T3/T4 turbo setup?

I am making some flanges for a turbo set-up what kind of steel would I use for best performance?

Most places use mild steel flanges. Stainless would be nice but it's so effing expensive.

stainless expands too much to use for the manifold head flange if that's one of the ones you want to make. It will warp like crazy. The first manifold I ever had was made with a 1/2" stainless flange and it warped badly on 2 occasions.
