-highest octane fuel available
-idle your car after you drive it
-listen for weird sounds
-change oil religiously
-enjoy

i kno most pple know to let the engine run after driving...but do pple here also let the engine warm up longer when they start up in the morning?
i knew a guy who let his car warm up for 10 minutes and then cool down for 10 minutes...literally. overkill?

This is kinda an old topic, but you gotta give me some credit for doing a search.
Anyways, like the title says, after the turbo is on, what kind of things do you do to maintain the setup? Also, what are some common problems that I might run into? Lastly, is it imperative to dyno tune after it is on, or is this just to squeeze as much hp as I can outta it? I ask this last question cuz I don't know much about tuning a car so I didn't know if it would be absolutely necessary, plus I live in podunk Wichita, Ks and don't know of many places I can get this done at. Thanks fellas and ladies.
P.S. I only plan on running about 6-8 lbs. Not gonna upgrade internals for a while.

Re: what kind of maintenance do you have to do on a turbo car (Racer X)
dude i was in your shoes.. I ran an UNTUNED ecu for a while and even though I thought it felt alright for a turboed car it drives completely nothing like a tuned car. My car actually STARTS right away, IDLES almost like stock, DRIVES LINEAR (VERY VERY BIG PLUS FOR ME), gets GOOD gass milage, and netted me like 30+whp. I drove 2 hours the first time to get my car tuned (didn't even get a chance cause I had problems) then drove another 1.5 hours a week later to goto the dyno meet. So thats like 4 hours the first time round trip drive for nothing and 1.5 hours to tune. Essentially ou can say I drove almost 5 hours to get my car tuned correctly...would I do it again? HELL YEAH!

I see, I see. Did you know how to tune the car yourself? Or did someone show you how to or do it for you? See that is what my big dilemma is. I just have NO experience with tuning a car's ecu. Anyone else have some advice?

I have to let my car warm up for a couple minutes before I drive or else it stalls (nevermind I got a bus' up IAC valve) I do let it idle for a couple minutes after driving if I hit boost, for normal driving I just idle it for a few seconds before shutting it off...
