what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
been doing some research on wich manifold would be best for my b20 vtec turbo setup
seems like the edlebrock performer x is the best bang for my buck but been hearing mixed answers and reviews..some say will not be good with my cams here is my setup let me know what you guys think..currently have crower cams stage 3 but will be using ctr cams with the manifold i get...also what tb? tb size? block consist of: b20b block 84.5mm fresh deck and balanced blue printed eagle rods cp pistons 9:1 king bearings golden eagle block guard act clutch arp bolts all around b16 head port and polished crower stage 3 cams [switching to ctrs] true time cam gears rc 550cc injectors fpr golden eagle vtec kit b16 transmission p28 s100 hondata ecu blox dual springs and retainers hks hi power exhaust [pending] turbonetics complete turbo kit |

Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
i would run a skunk 2. Thats what am running, but then again am all motor..
all man friends that have a turbo have a skunk 2.. Edlebrock (victor x) probably run better if your using the bottle.. if not just stick with the skunk... |
Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
yeah they say victor x is better for all motor..
im considering the performer x...wich is suposably good for turbo set ups.. |

Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
sk2 all the way lol jk i guess its what you like everyone i know uses skunk2 i see a couple victor x on fully built motors and i would guess a 68mm tb would be good enough ?? im guessing and i did do a little research they said the bigger you go the less torque cause you loose vacuum

Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
What are your power goals? The Victor X is by far one of the elite boost manifolds period, but it is a higher RPM manifold 7-10k is where it makes peak power.
|
Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
The Victor X is the best manifold for boost applications. Skunk2 manifolds are pretty good, but you can get a blox manifold for half the price and it is almost identical to the skunk2 manifold.

Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
I would go with a Victor x.

Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
Another choice could be the BBK performance manifold. You can also get their 70MM TB which is portmatched for it as well. Its a decent price too.

Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
so wouldnt the performer x be better than the victor x manifold? since supposably its Engineered for peak torque and horsepower gains at 4500-8200
im trying to make 300whp..wich some say i might not need the manifold i still want a good manifold to help the b16 head out.. and what size tb can i use stock? is it true you lose torque with a bigger t.b? thanks everyone for the info..really helpfull..so far i have narrowed it down to three..edlebrock performer x..skunk 2 pro series..or blox.. dont know what t.b |
Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
you can make 300whp with the stock lol
idk iv heard skunk 2 manifolds are junk but that's just online mixed reviews i believe its more of am "brand name" than a performer.. id say victor x if not id check out the magnus manifold it has a really nice build and internal work and iv seen them used on some high applications 6-700+ i would stay away from blox all their stuff is really cheaply made from everything iv seen kinda like a "ebay brand" |
Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
I would like to see what the difference is between a performer X and a type R style manifold. I think it would be great for a mostly street driven car. It is the best N/A manifold on the market from what I have read in the All motor forum here. Anyone have experience with boost and a Performer X?
|
Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
If your looking for 300whp use all the stock parts. No need for aftermaket

Re: what intake manifold for my turbo setup?skunk2? edlebrock victor? performer?
Bump for more info I currently have a victor x on my setup fullbuilt but only
Plan on reving to like 8200 so wouldn't it be better for me to swap out to the Performer??? For some reason a lot of ppl still saying the victorx will be best for boost |

No they are not and this is misinformation that has been floating around for sometime. There was a huge thread on HT a couple years ago where Blox was on here trying to defend their company and all the big names were involved in the discussion. So much factual information got out that the thread eventually got locked and went "missing" on HT (you can't find it no matter how hard you search). Blox is a Chinese copy company, Skunk is not.

i had a blox filter it was sh*t but it was cheap:thumbup:
for cheap it was good lol:thud: |
