Ok, I bought a cheap ebay BOV used off of someone else for $15.50 shipped. I just got it today and it was the gay purple one so I decided to take it apart and paint the top blue to match the rest of the stuff under my hood. I've never seen anyone post what the insides look like so I thought I would.

Ok here is what it looked like.



Ok then I took it apart and the diaphragm looks like crap. It's a flat piece of rubber that is held in place by the top of the BOV. The bottom where it seals the charge pipe off at has an o-ring.








The top also had an o-ring to seal it.



Now, you see people talking about taking out the extra spring to make it work better. Well here is what they are talking about.

Now, I haven't gotten to test it yet because I still have to purchase a charge piping kit. Then I just have a few more things left and I will be ready to boost my H23. I thought I would make this thread so people know what the ebay BOV's look like on the inside. These things are made very cheaply but that is what should be expected of something so cheap. I will post here when I actually get to use it. I only plan to run about 5 psi so this should be perfect.

Most cameras have a setting for pictures closer than ~28". If not, don't take the picture closer than 28".

As for the bov, I'm glad to see the internals. I think I'll take some pics later of my real greddy to add. In the future I plan on getting my own ebay version, of which I'll do a real nice side-by-side.

The phone is supposed to be 1.3 mega pixels but I don't think so. When you look at the pics on the phone they look ok but then you get them on the pc and they suck.....I might just borrow my friends camera next time. He took a pic of the inside of his pc and you could see dust on it.

I put the smaller one back in because most people say that it is too stiff with both of them in there and causes it to not work right. I don't know if it will work better or not but I will probably do a test and maybe make a couple of videos.

to the op: what makes you such an awesome authority on judging the quality of parts?

That thing looks a lot like my real greddy type-s did. It'd be hard if not impossible to tell how "shitty" the thing is compared to a greddy without a side by side test and some actual testing... Not just **** talking ching chong meow parts...

I'm not trying to back the cdm bov i'm just saying the uber bias anti everything cdm needs to chill out. Yes most of the cdm stuff is junk but some of it is ok.

Well I made this thread so that people can see what they look like. How about you take apart a real Greddy Type-s and post up some pics. The cheap diaphragm looks like crap to me. I took apart my real Tial wastegate and it looked way better than this but then again a wastegate is different. I said it looks like crap, does that mean it is? I'm also wondering is it is going to leak. I will find out once I get the rest of my stuff.

Also I don't really care. As long as it gets the job done it's good enough for me.

Looks pretty normal to me...what makes you think it's shitty? BOVs aren't real complex. Either they work or they don't.

I'm not a fan of those. I know from the outside they just look real cheesy compared to the real thing even if they do work fine.

But , hope it works for you.. I wonder why these big name companies can't go after the counterfieters for copying thier products..

Just thought I would give a little update. I got my install finished and the BOV seems to be working great. Only been boosted for 3 days so far. I will update the thread again if I have any problems.
