Default What is the highest PSI you can run safely

I have a 98 LS turbo'd, with 187,xxx on it. This is my set up, Rebuilt stock bottom end with OEM Parts, Golden Eagle Block Gaurd, Rebuilt head, ARP headstuds, T3 turbo, AEM EMS, AEM wideband o2, Greddy BOV, Tial Wastegate, 3" downpipe/turboback, 550 Injectors, 255 Walbro fuel pump. I have been running between 8-10 PSI on it for 40xxx miles and was wondering if I change the spring on the wastegate to a 12 and get a new Map sensor and re tune it if it will still be as reliable as a daily driver. I drive it 125 miles a day! Should I just keep it as it is?

ask your tuner, hes the one who should have the final say on what he feels comfortable pushing the motor too. He does not want to hear about what some guys on H-T told you was safe.

But some of us H-T guys will tell him to not base psi on whats "safe" anyway, especially when he did not state what turbo he's running. That would explain alot.

^^
X2

PSI dopesn't matter until you know what turbo is being used. That can then be translated into approximate horsepower expectaions and THAT is what determines what 'safe' is for a motor.

I was going to go into that, but that would lead to more questions on something thats been covered a million times.

its all in the tune man.. its not psi it hp.. what kinda of hp are you looking for?? then have your tunner decide on the psi by what kind of reasonable power you want..

just start turning up the boost until you crack a sleeve, after that happen just go 5psi lower and then you know how much safe. i think thats the best way to do it

For a stock block B series, you can make 300whp safely. The boost pressure needed to get to that point varies depending on the turbo and the efficiency of the setup. This question is far too vague which is why you got such "helpful" answers
