What Guides for high HP head, b16
I currently have Bronze guides in my head right now, but they have been passing alot of oil due to bad clearance from what I think is a bad installation(shop owner tells me its from heat, head has not been on the car for more than ten miles)
Now i am trying to figure out what guides to get to replace the current ones as I did not purchase these guides. Also I am running Inconnel valves if that makes a difference.
Also what clearance should I have on the guides....should I just run a stock guide?
Thanks.

They were probably sized to big if they are passing oil after 10 miles.Stock guides and bronze are only not that much different in price,I charge 200 for bronze guides and 180 for stock guides installed and fitted to the valves.Bronze is a much better material for guides and is worth the extra 20 bucks imo.Are you sure it's the guides and not the rings?I'd get a leak down test to make sure before you get the guides replaced and still have the same problem.

Positive it was the guides. leak down test was perfect and when you hand cranked the engine you can look down the spark plug hole and see the left over oil just drip down from the valve. I currently have the head at the old machine shop, but would much rather you do the work for me...heard good things about you, and you are only a 2 hour drive from me. What are your hours so I can call and set up something?
Thanks!
Thanks!
