if a fmu setup is the way you want to go... you need an inline (bosche preferred) and a vortech fmu (12:1). i would recommend a missing link. from there.. you can see where your air/fuel ratio needs improvement.

better yet... if you have the money, get Hondata.

i would recomend a intank pump over inline.
easy to install and, quieter, and i don't like the idea of two pumps....one pushing and the other pulling

you could always run check valves, instead of missing link. haha.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know for an FMU, an Inline fuel pump is the way to go, as it produces more pressure (which is needed, because that's exactly what an FMU uses) then does an Intake, which produces moves more volume, which in needed for larger injectors.

:edit:
Oh yeah, I say if you plan on up grading to a stand alone system the future, then just run check valves for the time being, and save the money you would have spent on a bling bling missing link. That's what I'm doing, at least

if i use the inline fuel pump will i also have to upgrade the the intank?

i plan on using the smc and dsm 450's later on so,i am just using the fmu for the time being.

is the missing link necessary?

dude.. all i can say on this one.. is ... get a missing link .. there 60 bucks... and no more CEL light... if running under 10 psi.. i would say 8:1 on the fmu and.. get a MSD inline fuel pump there 76 bucks at summit racing online.. .. what else do ya need..?

You can get either a high pressure or high volume intank pump.
But since he's going to be using dsm 440's and smc i recomend the high volume.

with 440's use a 4:1 and use the afc to lean/rich it out.....

seems to be a debate on which fuel pump to use.

why not an inline with 450 injectors. i hear many people use the 255 walbro with the 450's

here's what i use. Vortech FMU 12:1 disk, rc 440 injectors, missing link, walbro 255lph intank pump, safc. Depending on how much hp and what you plan on doing, you might want to step up to 550cc injectors a big *** pump and bigger fuel lines. On the setup i'm using now at 10psi the car made 326hp and 221ft. lbs of torque. With a bigger pump and lines the car will make over 500hp.

so i could use Vortech FMU 12:1 disk, dsm450cc injectors, missing link, walbro 255lph intank pump? i looking to boost 6-9 psi in on a stock b18b with a drag 3 kit.

yea, that would work fine, you'll just need to lean it out with the some sort of afc.

You will also need to use a safc to lean it out and to idle with injectors that large

wouldn't the 12:1 disk force way too much fuel through 450cc injectors. they would let a larger volume of fuel through so he would need less pressure. like an 8:1 or 6:1 disk, right? my 12:1 disk pegs out my 100psi guage at 8-9psi of boost.

Edit: with an inline pump
Edit: oh yeah, and get a missing link, those fish tank valves are crap
