Default what do you guys with sweet cars do when its time for balancin/alginment/any shop work?

Hey i think i need my tires balanced, and a frontend alignment.

Problem is i sure as hell dont want to hand my car over to some shop, i mean my car puts out pretty good power and i dont trust any shop i send it to to JUST do the work, and NOT go joy riding.

What do you guys do anout this? I can take my tires off and get them balanced off the car, but alignment?

You could actually stay there and look at them work on your car?

Thats why you drive it on the rack, and you watch them while they work. You dont let them drive the car. And if they have a problem with that then you go somewhere else.

is it a normal practice for a shop to let YOU do that?

Seems fair enough, but you know how some shops can be asses...

I'm normally there if my car is getting something done. When i got my alignment, i was standing right there next to them i asked them and they said it was fine. When i got my tires changed etc at dt, I stood there and looked. They don't really care. Sometimes they can be asses.

Take it to a shop that does wheels/alignments for track/race cars.

You'll pay more, but you pay for their care and experience.

My car isn't sweet either, but they normally let me watch. It's not too dangerous around things like alignment, changing tires etc.

Oh yeah if you have a nice, or not even nice, just a semi-fast car dont leave it there. I had a great time joyriding when I worked at a garage. I got to drive a 500hp supercharged 05 GTO, Jag XK-R, M5, vettes, a school bus.... I even went drifting in the owner's daughter's Miata one night. My friend that worked with me drove the GTO and I drove my car and we raced, right on the road in front of our shop with my other friend standing in front of the store videotaping it. I got to drive the police chiefs Hummer, he had bullets sitting in the center compartment. I never messed any cars up or stole anything though, that would be mean. I would never leave my car at a shop unless I knew the guy who was working on it, and theres only one shop like that. Just watch them work on it, youll be fine. We let people watch us all the time. That stuff about you cant go in the back cause of insurance is stupid, we only enforced it when people from the corporate office were there.

I don't think he's trying to be an ***, but it is kinda messed up to take someone else's car and drive it around like that. Some people really care about there cars and how they are driven, and then people like you take them out and drive them hard and ****. That's not right. **** man, I'd be pissed as hell if i found out some ******* took my car drifting. I'd make that bitch buy me new tires.

Yup sure wasn't trying to be an *******. I'm just stating the truth, because people like you do these kind of **** that you're not suppose to. That's why I stand there and look at my car get worked on.

Id be pissed too, if someone beat on my car, but I didnt do that. And its hard to resist a joyride sometimes-- Come on I had a 500whp supercharged new GTO, I didnt care if I got fired for driving it that thing was nuts. We only did burnout contests in the rental cars we worked on. I never did anything to hurt the cars, just flooring it wont destroy them. And the Miata was a POS anyway, she said we could go drifting in it.

Yeah but a lot of people probably like taking care of there ****. They probably don't floor it themself, what makes you have the right to take there car for a joyride, and floor it around and ****? Not everybody thinks a like, you just need to take control over yourself. If you can't control yourself from messing with other peoples car. Then you have no self control.
