What do you all think of my junkyard IC pipes? pics
I used the hoses off of a dsm car as well as misc rubber hoses I pulled from misc cars. They mostly 1 3/4" in diameter and I used aluminum exhaust pipes to connect them together. Will this be suffucient to run about 8 psi of boost?

should hold up no probs. i would recommend buying some piping when you can afford it and get it done a little better.

Why shouldn't I run a lot of boost? Is it because of the small piping diameter and how much air it can flow? Or is it because the connections might get blown off?

I suggest either using the heavy duty t bolt clamps or place a bead of weld around the edges of your aluminum tubing, this way the rubber hoses have something to grab onto! My pipes kept blowing off because I wasn't using either. IMO, you can run higher boost but if you don't do either of these, the pipes will blow off.

I give you an A for creativity. Your car will be the one grading you on feasability. In the meantime, thumbsup - I can't see any reason for failure unless you have low grade coolant hose too close to the compressor outlet. Coolant hose will handle plenty of psi, how well it handles heat near the compressor outlet remains to be seen.
ludelvr makes a good point about the hoses slipping off. I'm a big fan of cutting a tiny groove in the pipe for the hose to bite down into when a clamp is tightened onto it... but the bead setup works just as well.
