first, what kind of car/motor and what to use it for.. and how much whp do you want to make and do you plan to make? you're asking a general question, be more specific.. or maybe post what you know..
most of the main parts will include
- exhaust manifold
- turbocharger (oil cooled or water + oil cooled)
- intercooler with intercooler/charge piping
- bov flange and bov
- oil send/return line (you'd want both in stainless steel)
- vacuum hose lines, splitters
- spark plugs
- exhaust large enough to support whatever hp.
a turbocharger may include internal wastegate, but in general you'll get better power results with external wastegate that will go on top of manifld
fabrication may include downpipe if not from some turbo kit, intercooler/charge piping, possibly an an extension elbow for external wastegate, dumptube for wastegate, modifications around radiator if you want front mount intercooler, tapping oil pan oil line. sometimes its easier to just buy piping from the kit.. - fabrication might be needed but not as much.
basic gauges should include boost and oil pressure..
if you want your setup to work better choose standalone for fuel management instead of fmu.. if you choose a standalone.. you will need standalone ecu, larger injectors, intank fuel pump, f.p.r..
other accesories may include oil cooler/oil catch can/more gauges/boost controller/turbo timer.
in general the more hp you run, the more stock parts you may need to upgrade.
(choosing turbo trim: you can go with what others use on similar setup. or research for yourself by learing compressoin maps and matching it to your car.. formulas are out there)
