I was wondering whta i need to install the thermal 3inch exhaust since i doesnt connect to a stock catalyc converter. I was thinking of a carsound cat witha 3 inch outlet and what size should the inlet be. I know this is a stupid question does the downpipe conncet to the cat so if a have a 3 inch downpipe the inlet should be 3 inches?

First, get in good touch with your local midas man (in my case John was the man!)

so i go to john with my "problem"

Tim: You see john this is the problem (points to 2.5" Downpipe) this needs to fit into THIS (points to 3" carsound cat)

John: aww Tim, not a problem bud, come back in an hour....

Tim goes and sits in waiting room since he is a loser with nothing else to do....(one hour goes by)

John: here ya go dude!

basically what happens....you need to get a 3" --> 2.5" Reducer flange made, i had mine a slip fit, so the downpipe will slide right into my cat, and then pinch weld it or clamp it.

your second problem will be that the cat needs to have the flange welded on so you can bolt your thermal on to the other side, once again, go to midas or whoever, and have them weld on the triangular flange on so it can mate up to your thermal. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE your holes lined up first! and you might wanna have them weld in your secondary 02 bung into your cat, cause it doenst have one like the stock ones do! if you need any more help man, just IM me!
