What OE type injectors around 550 cc fit stock Honda fuel rail .

1993-up RX-7 Twin Turbo comes it a few different versions 550 & 850cc injectors. I have a set they look pretty similar to our injectors, havent really tried mounting them up, since I am going to get them balanced first. But I think with some modifications they could be made to fit in our rail... btw, you will need to get 2 sets from these cars, since they have 2 cylinders..

Jeff are you smokin something? J/K The 93+ RX-7 used side-feed injectors I thought. Also all RX-7 86 and up use 4 injectors, 2 primaries and 2 secondaries. The 93+ RX7's use BOTH 550cc and 850cc injectors. 550 are the primary injectors and the 850cc'r are the secondaries. They work in a sort of squential setup, where the smaller injector are used for idling up to like 3500rpm and bigger injectors come on at higher rpm's at fuel the engine. Rotaries are fuel hungry MF's

The 92 and earlier RX-7 have injectors that are top-feed and compatible the Honda fuel rails. Here's a break down

84-85 GSL-SE - 680cc injectors(low-imp) 1st year of the fuel injected 13b rotary engine. Only used 2 per engine though. Mazda realized that this approach didn't work very well so in the later years they swiched to the 4 injector setup.

86-87.5 non-turbo - 460cc injectors(low-imp)
86-87.5 Turbo/Turbo II - 550cc injectors(low-imp)

87.5-92 non-turbo - 460cc(high-imp)
87.5-92 Turbo/Turbo II - 550cc)(high-imp)

93+ - Side feeder's 550cc primaries and 850cc secondaries. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

You know what, I am thinking the injectors I got are not even the turbo model injectors, The engine was already gone, and the intake manifold was in the trunk on both. One of the cars had some turbo badging on them. So I wasnt sure if the other was or Not. The injectors looked identicle on both, so I took all 4 of them. Side feed? as in? The injectors I got look just like normal Nippon-Denso Injectors, they do look to sit a bit taller, but thats it. I am going to get them flow checked to see what they even are.

I was unaware they used 2 different style injectors on the turbo motor, (differnet sizing for the twin setup)

N/A Supras had saturated (Honda style) injectors... might have been 450's though?

Anyone seen it?

DSM 555's can work with a little adapter thing...

Do you mean the yellow-top 515cc injectors from the big-16g powered 4G63 engines? They will work just as well as DSM 450's

These are some of the kind that the 93+ RX7's use. They're side feeders. I've never seen any up close but obviously they're a bit different than our stockers.



These are the type that the older 1st and 2nd gen RX7 use. Most likely the type you found in the yard. My guess it somebody just chunked an intake mani from one of the older RX7's in the back of one of those newer one's at the 'yard. It's all junk to them, so i'm sure they don't care if people get the wrongs parts. Either way if they're from a turbo car or not ,you're guarenteed to have at least a 460cc'rs.

If you test the resistance across the connector you'll be able to tell what year car the came from.....if you care

ahh, yes the 2nd pic looks similar to the injectors I got. I am assuming this are saturated style injectors... but I could be wrong, what are the resistance values for the cars? got a list?

Nissan's have injectors similar to the first pic. "side feed" With the O-ring up top like that. Makes sense.

I have never heard of the SDM having 515cc, I have the 450 s right now( Low Imp).
Do you know the year or model of the 515cc's DSM's.

I'm not sure on the resistance values for each indv. injectors. But the resistance values should be close to all other injectors. 87.5 and older will be peak-and-hold low resistance injectors, they should ohm out between 2~3 ohms of resistance. The 87.5 and newer injectors are saturated high resistance style, theyy should hit 12~13 ohms of resistance.

Well there's a good reason for that, the DSM 515cc injectors were a JDM only product. The 4G63T engine's that came in the EVO's over in J-land had these in them. So you'll have to jump on ebay or troll a DSM forum to find you a set.

I believe MK3 supra's will work--they are top feed and 550. Not sure if they peak/hold or saturated.

What year are the 550 Supra high impeadance injcectors?
