Weird turbo sounds related problem..
Last night i desided to fix a tiny little exhaust leak i had comming from a piece of flex pipe roughly 8 inches from the turbo. so i pulled off the down pipe removed the flex pipe and welded in a solid piece of pipe. no more leak
now, my problem is, after driving my car for the last 20 minutes (since the exhaust was done) i cant hear the turbo at all, i mean nothing... it was VERY loud before.. im still boosting fine, and my BOV is still opening... could a tiny leak really cause that big of a change in sound??

Yeah it sure can. I had a hole in my downpipe roughly in the same area you did. I could hear the turbo spooling/whistling very easily. After fixing that all I hear now is the turbo sucking in air.
