Went to the tracks today...what a dissapointment...i suck!
well guys, i had to take her out today to see what she could do. it was hot and i guess i wasn't used to shifting into 5th to finish the 1/4 mile so that really killed my ets(installed a gsr tranny w/quaife lsd). not only that, i was running my buddy's 20.0 x 6 x 14 slicks. damn those things are only as big as my *****!! the only good news was i was able to out run the only NSX there which was almost stock besides the basic bolt on goodies. here's my best slip of the day:
R/T .253 (perfect reaction time is .000)
60' 1.999
330 5.632
1/8 8.535
MPH 86.34
1000 11.292
1/4 13.500
MPH 109.84
i missed(forgot) 5th right at the end and rolled to the end i was running full exhaust/interior/etc etc. next year...ls/vtec turbo...and hopefully 11.999...and get kicked off the track because i don't have a roll cage.

Did you go to rockfalls?i thought it was .500 was the perfect reaction time there. Must have changed it. & how did you manage to get into 5th , i'm barely in 4th.
Good times, next time, get some bigger slicks

Re: (Drag_On)
rockfalls changed their perfect reaction time to .000 i think this year. and yeah it was blazing hot yesterday!! i almost passed out a few times when making some of those passes!!! lol! yeah, i don't know why i had to go into 5th gear to finish but i know that i redlined 4th and i still wasn't at the finish line yet. and going into 5th really kills my time/et.
yeah Paul, Shang was there with that 500+whp civic of his....but he was having massive problems and only managed a 12.9 or something like that. he was blowing white smoke all over the place and bogging thru 1,2,& 3 gears.

Must have changed to LED lights on their tree.
But nice runs...set it up right and I can smell 12's easily.

you've got good MPH.. thats good for mid 12's w/ a great launch... btw, how much did ya pay for the hondata tuning?? i'm puttin my turbo system and fabbed parts together as we speak... haven't even hit the tracks all yr, but hoping to go at least once in october b4 the yr is over...
i'll see u on the street next yr sherman...

Re: (shermanyang)
I didn't think the reaction time matters much unless you just wanna leave the line before the other guy, because the clock doesn't start until you leave the line. My time slip is very similar to yours.
.939
1.964
5.460
8.293
87.09
10.715
12.780

I have to use fifth gear as well. It seems like something else happened after you 60ft. My car is also a full interior weighing in at 2775lbs with me in it. Was the car tuned on a dyno? Maybe you need to play with the program a bit at the track?
Good luck!

Re: (turbo Si)
Im confused i saw mph, which is good for 12's, then i saw your et 13.5 and i thought maybe you were on shitty tires. But 1.9 60 ft is nice so I dont relly understand the 13.5. I know ive had a few , but anyone notice that?

Oh just reread original post hmm why not rev a little higher in 4th w/hondata?

Re: (c1hatch)
when i had it tuned at elite, isaac the tuner advised me to keep the redline stock as my valvetrain is still a stock ls. he says making the power i'm making it's a wise choice to stay stock just in case i over revv...miss gear...etc, etc.
and yeah, i saw the orange finish line at the end of the track when i was redling 4th, i never thought i'd have to go into fifth from talking to other people at the tracks running a gsr tranny. but then i never thought about how fast they were going either (under 95 mph) since most of them were all motor cars.

yeah hopefully next year i'll be doing better. my suspension sucks ding dong at the moment as i was just talking with my little brother and friends about since they were watching me run. everytime i switched gears my whole front end would seem like it was about to take off. i'm gonna need harder springs and better shocks for next year. oh and yeah i always get my stuff tuned before i start driving it hard. Elite always tunes my car...and they do a great job at it too. the last time i got it tuned, i was on the dyno for a little over 3 hours and they only charged me 1 hours worth of dyno tuning which was $140.

yeah, when is the seminar? would it be cool to make payments? kinda on a tight budget at the moment as i'm building a new motor.

Re: Went to the tracks today...what a dissapointment...i suck! (shermanyang)
I always point this out when vtec guys talk about "shorter gears are better." and they say to, "just rev it higher." Its different w/ an LS turbo cause even if we wanted to rev over 7500 we won't make the power that high in the rpm's w/ out cams and headwork. I had to go to 5th as well w/ a 109 trap speed. I shift @ 7300 in 4th gear on my set up and that wasn't enough rpm's to stay in gear. I stayed in 4th to cross the traps @ 7600 and it didn't make my time faster or slower then going to 5th. Best thing for u to do is go to a taller tire and rev it to about 73-7400.
I went and grabbed an old time slip. my 60', 330', and 1/8 are very similar to urs including the trap speeds. only difference is I was staying in 4th till 7400.
60'.....2.005(my best 60' ever)
330'...5.598
1/8....8.469
mph...86.29
1000'...10.908
1/4....12.948
mph...108.91
u lost alot of time @ the 1000'-1/4. on 20" slicks and 6800 rpm's i bet u topped out 4th before the 1000'. damn!

Re: (94goldjungsr)
22" slicks will help with the gearing and even though you don't make great power up top with a raised rev limit, you keep your momentum going and won't have to shift into 5th. springs and retainers aren't too expensive and fairly easy to have installed. 22's and an 8000 rpm limit and you'd have seen mid 12's EASY. your making 275 to the wheels right??

Re: (jinxproof99)
my thoughts as well, except maybe not 8k. Im asuming to get 355whp on an LS he's using a cam set of some kind, if not then maybe his power peak really is ~7kish.
