Went to the track last night ( I think I broke it )
The track was recently resurfaced, I redynoed my car. Seemed like a perfect opportunity to see what kind of times I could put down. First off I dynoed 247 whp and only 190 ft/lb torque on a stock b18b1 with a custom turbo setup. Running a T3 Super 60 at 10 psi. Traction was a bit of a problem, best time of the night was a 13.6 at 107 mph. I had a 2.5 60'. After a few runs I heard a rattle. Popped the hood and this is what I found:
It was leaking some fluid at the time, it's now dried. I think the mount is shot, I'm pretty sure it's shot. Do you think I can just replace it with another OEM mount with maybe an insert? If I do that, do you think the mount will hold, or would it be better to nut up and get some HASport mounts?

Whoa, were you wheel hopping like a ****? I would say it is toast.
If you do a lot of draggin, bet a stiffer mount (not sure who makes them anymore).

I broke the drivers side mount in my B18B EK. The liquid spewed everywhere and the motor literally jumped up and dented the hood. I am replacing all OEM mounts with aftermarket mounts, just haven't decided which brand to go with.

Believe me, I tried. Everyone was having traction problems, the track was recently resurfaced. There isn't enough rubber on the ground yet.

I also am a huge fan of prothane inserts. cheap and very effective.

I have prothane inserts in every mount in my b18b in my integra. My friends can't believe how strong they are. The motor won't even budge, and neither will you wallet at only $60 at summit racing.

you can get that upper mounts insert from prothan, like 40 bux max! it works like a champ, i just did mine yesterday, it comes with 2 inserts "street" or "race" and the race which i used is stiff as ****, lots of vibration.
you will have to press out the steel insert inside your mount, which is NOT easy. you have to lock it in a vice and get an air chissel to push out the steel sleeve

Yes, I just bought the mount kit for a B into an EK from Full-Race, they were having a kick *** sale on these.
