Default Went to the track last night, but.......

got in one good run but it was my FIRST time ever. i didnt heat the slicks up well and kinds spun a bit through first and in the beginning of second and got a 2.00 60'. i was hoping to bring it down to a 1.8 or so, but.....
the first and only good run was a
12.723 @ 109.xx
i had to go into 5th cause of the gsr tranny

then somebody blew oil everwhere and i had to wait atleast another hour to run again, but something was wrong. the motor was kinda hesitating, like missing. when i did my next burn out, i did it in first (should have done it in second) and the rev limiter was pegging to like 7500-7700 on a stock ls head. then it missed the whole way down the track, sounding somewhat like a helicopter. thought maybe i fouled a plug, so i pulled then and two looked rich (ok) and the other two looked like leanish, burnt all the carbon right off the tip. changed the plugs, nothing. so i called it a night.
so now the thing runs horribly, like its constantly missing where there is a load on it. makes the whole car vibrate at even a very slight throttle. also the car is running leaner now, atleast according to my dummy a/f gauge. The thing goes completely lean when in boost. i havent checked anything else out yet cause i had to sleep last night and have school today. i wont be driving it until all is fixed though.
here are my thoughts on what i am gonna try next -
pull the valve cover off and set it to TDC to see if the timing belt slipped
do a compression test to see if i bent any valves
burn another chip to see if that will do anything

it really feels like the timing is WAY off, but i dunno

atleast im in the 12sec club!!!!

any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated
THANKS
Burke

Build that valve train....maybe raise the rev limiter. Shifting into 5th on a gsr trans .....especially at 109 is kinda tough.

possibly headgasket....
possibly valves
possibly this
possibly that

you're just going to have to do a leak down and a compression...see what's up

OOPS I think I missed some parts of your post when I gave a thumbs up and beer! Ceck all your cylinders for spark and fuel, while it is running pull a spark plug wire to see if it is firing if you pull it all the way out and nothing you have lost spark in that cylinder and /or fuel. Also check you got fuel to each cylinder. Check the timing belt couldve slipped. Good luck.

Possibly in the two RICH ylinders you could have no spark or weaker spark. Ideas.

starting pulling stuff apart today. it looked like the number 2 plug had never got any fuel. and it didnt. the resistors i wired in line with the dsm 450s were too small and they heated up and one got fried, so my injector wouldnt fire. im gonna get some bigger ones tomorrow or sunday and all will be fine. maybe ill be able to make it too the races on sunday
thanks for the help
