went lapping.... blowby???
I went lapping at Gingerman Raceway this past weekend (in the clubsi annual event)
It was tonnes of fun and the car held up fine(for being poorly tuned..well actually its more safely tuned.like crazy safe, so its not making good power)
Before I left my oil was ok a tiny bit low. I had a long drive to get there and the morning of I checked the oil again(the next day..but after the long drive)
and I had nothing registering on the dip stick. I got some oil from a buddy and put it in . It took the full quart to make it ok. (top circle) It didnt make sense to me as to why I wouldve lost that much oil. Im not burning it, I DONT have any leaks at all...
I also checked my plugs and noticed some oil on some of the plug threads..... I also have a little bit of oil coming from one of the head bolts.very tiny bit.(one of the 4 around the spark plugs)
Im wondering since I dont ahve a proper catch can/breather set up(just open to atmoshpere) that it could be causing a good amount of blowby???
or is something else wrong?
any ideas?

Re: went lapping.... blowby??? (SiRkid)
I am running an open PVC setup and it ran fine. One thing that I see a lot of, is when you're making lap turn, your crank may starve of oil and may have cause a minor spun bearing. I can exactly tell for sure since I can not see or hear the car in person. That's why baffle plated oil pan may have been a good solutions if you are doing a lot of track racing.
Try to top the oil and remember where you fill it up to, then check back in about a week and see if you're still losing oil or not. Then we'll figure out what it is

Re: went lapping.... blowby??? (Flamenco-T)
finally!
thanks.
I checked it before I lapped and it was low!
I figured it was from the long trip to gingerman and from boosting in general.
hmmmmm, weird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
