Well...... twas a SPUN rod bearing
Pulled the motor and took some of it apart(with scott-93 hb) to find this in the pan
thats some nice metal pieces in the pan(sorry its blurry but you can see them)
the bottom of number 4 looked awfully....black
Its supposed to be greyish(like the crank) for those who dont know.
Check the bearing
and..its not supposed to have a lip on it
snowboarding anyone?
the upper part of the rod and its now attached bearing
the other side was worse(sorry its blurry)
So , she was a spun bearing that had welded itself to the rod! i drove the car for 3 weeks with it making a very faint tick noise that slowly got louder till the one night when it was really loud. I changed the oil(well added to what was hardly there ) and the noise basically went away. i drove the car about 20 miles to work on it and even boosted it on the way there. ahahahaha. (It was slow!)
So a motor can run on a spun bearing, it all depends on what happens.
Sorry for the shitty pics.(phone camera)
Hopefully scott will take some better quality pics of the rod with his good digi cam.
There were some small scratch marks in every cylinder on the walls. It was worse in number 4. I can thank the debris for that.
The head seemed fine although im a little worried cause when i pulled the turbo earlier this week i saw this
oil soaked number 4 exh port.
BUT after driving to scotts and pulling stuff apart there was no more oil. Beats me where the oil came from? Earl? Scott thought maybe cause the bearing wasnt there(or was paper thin) that everything was out of wack and this couldve cause oil to have get passed? I dunno.
CN: check your god damn oil especially if you know your going through it.

I can't see pics either!
Basically bottom line is - ran REALLY low on oil, #4 went (makes sense - it's furtherest from the oil pump). Turbo had nothing to do with the motor blowing, unless it was eating oil. Moral of the story - check your oil level Frequently!
The rod and the crank are toast - crank might be salvageable if there enough material that could be ground off without needing custom bearings, but that's too much work for a b16A crank. Also, block is still okay from a first glance, just needs to be torn down - probably oversized pistons and cleaned extensively.
I'll take some good shots when i get home tonight and post them up.

That sucks ***** man...I guess you an other reason to upgrade your motor
If you drive a Honda, be damn sure you check your oil everyday.

At least you pulled it out before anything worse happened to the rest of the engine. I ran mine for a month NA, and then boosted it for a month. Then one night, the #4 rod snapped and went out the oil pan and pretty much killed the rest of the block
