Well I guess i know WHERE my problem is now.....
This is a 89 ZC tranny. 6 puck Action clutch. less than 3000 miles on the clutch.
Driving home the other day (right after I bought my 89 civic beater in fact) I some how didnt have reverse. It now just grinds every time I try to put the car in reverse. Every gear is very hard to shift, and its still making the "wobble" sound at idle. Remember that the sound goes away once I press the clutch, and it resonances once I hit a certain RPM.
One person has mentioned the Idler shaft bearing. I do know that the reverse syncro is FUCKED, but how could that happen?
Anyone have anything else?
Needless to say, A FULL rebuild is in the works (not to mention a LSD ).

FYI, There's no synchro for reverse.
Just dog ear's on the gear itself... Which is why you have to be stopped or damn close to it to put a car in reverse.

well DUH!!
I am wondering exactly WHAT might be messed up, so I might be able to prevent this happening in the future.
I am also wondering if anyone else has had similar problems?

Here was my problem:
My car became VERY hard to get into gear when the car was on. The tranny went into gear when OFF so I figured my tranny was still okay. When driving, I grinded gears easily especially when trying to put it into reverse. Soon, when I started the car there would be a tapping sound. I push on clutch and the sound was gone.
One weekend, we pulled off my tranny. Re-torqued all bolts on pressure plate and flywheel. Check throwout bearing and fork. The fork was loose.
What happened was that there's a spring on the fork. The spring was probably bent when we first installed my clutch. We bent her back, threw her back in and moved it around. Sure enough, the fork was moving back and forth like it was supposed to. Put everything back in, and the car ran fine after that.

Are you talking about the spring that holds on the release bearing?
can you describe what exactly was wrong in a little more detail?
