Default Welding manifolds with a 110v 135amp MIG?

stupid idea? I can lay some nice beads with my oxy/act setup but i am getting a MIG setup shortly and it will be a house current 135amp gas shielded rig probably a lincon. Would I have better luck doing a tubular style rather than log because of the material thickness? what about 3/8" flanges? Thanks

if its the mig pak think the limit is around 3/8 mild steel, try the New welding thread, they will know for sure.

I have the lincoln 135amp 110v mig welder and it does log manifolds fine, and I use 1/2" flanges... the first one I made I cut open and tried to smash it witha hammer, tried to break the welds in a big vice and it didnt give.. it will be plenty strong..

I laid my beads slow with a lot of wirespeed, so they were pretty big, then I went back and smoothed them out with a grinder.. it was a giant PITA, but it worked out nicely...

excellent!

I'm glad to hear you tested it too. I was planning on buying some stock to just weld up and smash myself. So the welds were pretty ugly? do you think it was you or the machine?
