well i just put the snail on and right before i go into boost there is a whining sound coming from the turbo..what the hell is this???

edit: turned out to be a blown turbo...i wasnt tripping

there is no filter on the turbo...yet. it seems like it only does it when the car is warm. when i first start to drive it this doesnt happen

Hmm...need to know more about what you've got...could it be loose belts on your engine? are you sure its your turbo? why are you running without a filter?

All i have is the alternator belt, no filter because i havent got an s pipe yet.

What i am saying though is could this be caused by having no filter.

but i will check the belt, it never did this before i put the snail on?

Tip:...Never drive without a filter!! All it takes is a grain of sand and its all over!
Use a raidator hose + filter as a temporary solution until you can get your pipe sorted.

Secondly, if you're talking about the whirling noise when the turbo spools, its normal. However, it is excessively loud, (almost a whiny kind of noise that is so loud that you can barely hear yourself think), then that's a sign of either poor lubrication or your turbo is old and needs to be overhauled.

another tip...provide as much info as you have about the problem.More then just it makes a noise .....
like is it under acceleration,deceleration,in boost out of boost, certain rmp, etc... the more info that you provide the better we can help diagnose your problem......from what you said it sound's like it's just the turbo spooling.

its becuaswe theres no filter i think . mine does it too , from vac to 0 it will like whine likem a supercharger and then as it accends into boost it will pssssssshhhhh ..
i think it sounds pretty cool.

spooling doesn't necessarily mean boosting....spooling=exhaust turning the turbine blades....boosting= positive pressure in the manifold

im telling you, look at your gauge when it does it , its when its spooling, but not in boost yet.
its going from Vac to 0 on the gauge, once it hits zero and up , youll hear the psssshhhhh

ok and it happens before boost, before the mani has a positive pressure, like what itr206 is saying. i read a previous post that is why i think it is because of no filter

its deff why , becuase i dont have a filter nither and mine does it too . you can kinda just tell the sound. its bad *** though, sounds like a supercharger

Adam, mine makes the same noise I am telling you qiute trippin. Your just worried cause its your first boosted honda, bring it over I wont to ride in it and see exactly what your talkin about.
