Weird Problem.
Well, Ive finally got a standalone on the damn car, tuning went well (john and taylor are the ****, will explain more later), we dyno'd and tuned the car, but some how the Valve lash Adjustment Nut on two valves came loose. I just did a valve adjustment, so i figured I didnt eat my wheaties the other day and tighten them down good enough. So we popped off the valve cover, tightened them down, all of them good. Threw it back on the dyno (heh gotta say, im very impressed, I put down 270hp, 229 ft/lbs on my stock b18b, but ill post more later) well the ticking noise is back, so Im hoping since we tightened them down while they were still hot, thats the cause of them becoming loose. Has anyone heard of anything like this? I hope tightening them when its cold will do the job, Im in tampa and have a long nice Expedition all over florida, and im gonna be paranoid with this now. If it doesnt work tightenin them down while its cold, what should i do? locktite??? Thanks

Just adjust them when the motor is completely cool. If you need to use locktight to keep the nut on there is something wrong and it should be replaced.

Excellent numbers man ****, wish I got my car tuned--4 months and still runnin on a "massaged" base map.
I dont know about the locktight since you cant really locktite the nut onto the arm----thats how you adjust it!! Definetly tighten down when when cold.

Steevo great to see you, those were certainly very impressive numbers and i love how your car smells like fresh boiled cabbage.
Glad everything is taken care of.. Post the dyno graph ? Oh nevermind, you can't of course because you are in Miami Beach enjoying some cuban chocho...

i adjusted them dead cold the next morning and it ran like a champ! one other one had backed itself off and when i re-torqued the others, they all took an additonal crank of about 25 degrees. just gimme a call if there is anything else needed! i dont mind coming up to g-ville

Hey guys, Im in Palm Beach right now hangin with some of my friends. I will be heading to Miami Beach tomorrow if any of you guys live out that way and know where **** goes down, give me a ring 904-535-6831, ill be staying on the intercoastal in northern miami beach and just chillin (got my uncles condo all to my self).....Anyways, Here is the dyno plot, sorry its shitty resolution, When i get back home ill explain everything else.
edit: sorry again for the bad resolution, ill upload the better version when i get home. anyways, the best run put out 270.2 hp & 228.9 ft/lbs incase you cant read it....oh yeah, my valves lash nuts have stayed tight, no problems what so ever, thanks again taylor, you're the ****.
Just so you guys know, it was at 12 psi. boost kinda jumped around a tad cuz the of the crappy delta gate, but didnt go above 12 psi. Many of you guys PM'd me and asked my set up, sorry if i didnt respond, but all i have is b18b w/ drag 3 kit...skunk2 intake manifold, and Hondata 3b w/ RC 500cc injectors. Everything else is stock. However, I truly believe If it wasnt for John and Taylor @ secret services, there's no way in hell i would have come close to these #'s. Ill post some more pics and info when i get home sunday night.

Re: Weird Problem. (Arturbo)
as impressive as the numbers are, before anybody jumps down my throat...
Yes, the a/f is a hair on the lean side. Let me explain why. The last runs I make are for worst case scenarios. This includes a HOT car, fully up to temp, and a thoroughly soaked with water/alc mix on the intercooler to make it quite chilly. If the car has no detonation, in these conditions, then I let it go. If it does, I retune it.
That said, I had no idea how impressive the numbers were until I compared them against other turbo LS's with similar setups. Steve your car is a freek
