Weak power after 5K RPM with T3 Turbo
My friend has a T3 turbo, it kicks in pretty damn fast but at around 5K+, it falls flat on its face. Is this normal for T3 turbos? Its from a Airesearch.

falls flat??? like power just stays, doesnt go up, that is a smaller turbo, it spools faster, but i dont think the power should just die, like eclipse turbos

what motor does he have it on?
what psi is he running?
those little guys run out of steam up top..
once they pass a certain efficiency they just blow super heated air
im not sure if its that early as 5k..

That turbo produces a very flat torque/hp curve. I remember when we dynoed my friends crx LS turbo T3. It did 230 hp, but it was flat, I think it peaked at like 5k or somewhere around there and just stayed at 230. torque was like 205 and it peaked at 4000 and pretty much stayed there for the rest of the time. It was actually kinda sick. that is why I am torn as to which turbo to get for B20 motor. Do I stick with what I know works, like a T3 .63 stage 3 with super 60 compressor, or do I venture into the T3/To4e land? for example I see Direps car dynoing 230 and 198, that is similar to what the T3 did on the LS. But then I see a video of his car dead even with a Drag equipped GS-R on the top end. So do I get the 57 trim that direp has or do I stay T3? Peak numbers were the same? Then I've got this 46 trim with a .63 stage 3 exhaust sitting right here at my house, maybe I should just put that in. This is ***.

At around 5K, you don't feel any pull, it feels like the turbo just shut off and the car is running N/A. Not sure if thats normal.

I had a bad exhaust leak and a clogged cat when my boost was dropping off with the 18G. But it probably wouldn't spool very fast if you had an exhaust leak. Also, do you have a boost gauge? If so, what is it telling you?
