Wats the difference.
Im new to the internal building and forced induction world and about to buy my stuff. Im bored .5mm over and am starting to get my internals ready. I was looking at
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1803659 hybrid-performance.com And im wondering what kind of difference there is in the brand/ types of rods. I dont know whats the good shit is or if im just paying for a name, are the turbo tuff rods used mainly for extreme turbo psi? and Is the bearing set worth the extra $$? thanks |
The different brands of rods are available depending on your power goals. If you're looking at anything less than 500whp, a set of Eagles will do just fine. If you want more than that, then you may consider upgrading to a set of Pauter or Manley rods. As for the bearing set, i've been told to use OEM Honda bearings rather than ACL, but i dont claim my word to be the law...other people may have a differing opinion

Re: (Schister66)
yea im only lookin for about 300-350hp...
i would think that if they make an aftermarket product that it should be in someway better than an oem but thats just an assumption. i dont know much. |

Re: (mike@synapse motorsport)
im stock ls.
got it bored last week .5mm over. getting the motorwork finished by mid april and turboed by mid june. is 11 or 12 psi a realistic DD goal. |
does anyone else know about these bearings?
im probably going to go with the Wiseco piston kit, eagle rods. not sure if i want the bearing set yet. |
Re: (92VXeg)
acl bearings are great we use them in about 75 percent of our engine builds.
