Water Sprayer Tank "thingy"
Has anyone ever installed a water tank so that you can spray your engine and intercooler on hot summer days? I saw one setup that uses a water pump from an RV, seems like that would work. I was considering doing this, and it doesnt seem like it would be too expensive or difficult, but Im not to good with plumbing and electrical. So, could you guys help me out? Appreciate it thanks. - Matt

You dont think it would help at all? The rally cars do it, so I thought maybe it would be usefull. If you refilled it with ice water it seems it would be helpful.

Apparently there's something to be found from a water or nitrogen spray, but it didn't seem much here....I think that if your intercooler isn't very efficient you could see alot more gain from a water or nitrogen spray, but the supra is already really efficient, so there wasn't much to be gained. To make this port a bit longer...I'm probably going to use a little dsm intercooler and use a waterspraying kit from http://www.jaycar.com...those damn Aussies know there ****.

Are you guys referring to water injection or spraying I/Cs with a fine mist ? As far as I know, water injection is a proven technology... not as popular in the US as in Europe... but proven nonetheless.

Water injection works great.. but we aren't talking about water injection

Re: Water Sprayer Tank "thingy" (X2BOARD)
water\alcohol injection is awesome but spraying your intercooler can make a huge difference. water on an object will dissapate heat 300 times faster!!! this will help greatly off the line since there is no air movement for the intercooler, and even more when at speed. Almost all great turbo race cars have intercooler squirters eg. WRX sti, Evo vi,vii,Peugot 3. the 80's Formulas did not need them cause they were averging 160 mph+. the easiest way to hook some up would be get a bunch of pissers from the junk yard and hook them up inline with your cars pissers and just pinch the line for your windsheild pissers. Does this make sense? haha

Nice car....I have a question and I don't want you to take it the wrong way.....but if you have a jrsc installed and are running it with a 22/psi pulley and all the other stuff you have done to your car, how come your best time in the 1/4 is only 14.8 w/nitrous???? again I am not trying to put your down or anything just curious, when some on this board are running mid 13secs on the 1/4 miles ????

just wondering, cause I am planning on installing a jrsc on my integra...as you can see by my sig. yeah a pulley like that would fry the charger I would assume? anyways I would like to go turbo but since I live in California, daily driver it just seems to me to be the better choice for me. what time do you run if you don't mind me asking?

Just curious, you make fun of the AEM bypass valve but have you ever seen the effects of hydrolock on an engine??? All the internals are usually destroyed. During the compression stroke of an engine, if there is enough water present (not much needed) the piston slams into a wall of water usually destroying the rod, the headgasket the valves, springs, retainers, and valve guides. The water has to go somewhere. I will admit not everyone with a CAI will experience hydrolock, but I wouldnt be willing to take the chance. Hell the bypass valves are cheap anyway.
