Water erosion on sleeves, will HG seal???
I took my spare block to the machine shop to have it checked over and everything to prepare for a build. I asked them to check the condition of the sleeves and what not. Yesturday they give me a call and tell me that it needs to be bored out .20" and it should be fine. So right after i get off the phone with them i order some eagle rods and je srppistons .20 over. Tonight my buddy swung by there machine shop and dropped off his block and toldme that they said my sleeves had some "water erosion"on the edges. So basically on the top edge of the cylinder, there are small chunks missing from the edge, sorta in like this picture, buton my block there NOT suppose to be there
Now my question is: I want this motor to be pretty reliable, i dont want to run into any problems in the future with the head gasket not sealing correctly. Do you think the head gasket willl still seal with these chunks missing? im extremely pissed that the machine shop didnt notify me of this before i ordered pistons/rods.

why didn't you spray some wd-40 on the sleeves?
i'd get some close-ups of the damage, did it sit outside??

I never had the motor in any of my cars, i got it from someone else. the inside of the cylinders are fine just need to be bored, the chips on teh outsuide edge are what scares me.
