wastegates: delta or tial?
Which one it best all around, I'm putting together a kit and don't know which is better for low to moderate boost levels (7-10psi). I've heard bad things about the tial gaskets or something, whats with that? Anyones 2 cents, info, or experiance welcome, thanks.

Re: wastegates: delta or tial? (dothemath)
Got the drag kit and got rid of the deltagate fast. Never got the ***** to try it out.
I do not think that there is a problem with the gasket. The problem, I think, is that the bolt what you hook the vacc line up is too big. It would push against my valve cover causing the gasket to not seat properly. I just shaved the top of the bolt down and everything is fine.
Not sure if this solved the problem because I went throught both the gasket that came with the tial and had to buy new ones at kragen.

if you're putting a kit together get the hks std. wastegate. the delta is crap.. and the tial is just a minor improvement on the lousy leaky design of the delta.

Just wondering if any of you actually used the Deltagate? I have one and it never gave me any problems. I intend to get to my goal of 400whp with it....or close to it.
My friends are using Deltagates with no problems either. I'm sure there are occasional stories about it failing, but many times the spiking and creeping is caused by the Drag manifold itself, and not the WG.

the tial gasket is a piece of ****. I blew 2 already in 2 days. I have tighened the bolts as tight as I can and use gasket spray on them. They just plain suck. Get metal ones.

I have a Delta, and it holds alright, but before I got an EBC, I would only see 5-6lbs of boost on a 7lb spring. If I had some extra funds, I would definitely get a TiAL.

I've had a delta wastegate before. To tell you the truth, i've had NO PROBLEMS with it. Blame it on the drag manifold
Now I have a Tial, and it rocks. But yeah... people that go with 3 inch downpipe/exhaust system with the Drag + delta will have problems.

tial all the way...i had the deltagate with the drag 3 kit and was a bit disappointed about the way it performed until i got the tial...same amount of power, just sooner and you don't have that open wastegate sound until you hit full boost

The only turbo experience I've had was with internal wastegates, will the drag 3 manifold fit the tial wastegate and the delta, or just one or the other? ei: if you upgrade from delta wastegate to tial do you have to change the manifold too or possibly just the flange, or what?

Because of the Drag manifold design(WG flange is only on one runner), it is harder for the WG to regulate boost.

Re: wastegates: delta or tial? (GSRrR)
Do all manifolds place the WG on one runner? Is there a manifold better than the drag but yet cost effective. I'm a nube so work with me.
