My cheapo tial knock off wastegate lets exhaust pressure by... Its kinda weird there is a ring that comes with the kit and a buncha flanges and **** but when the ring is used it then makes it imposible to create a complete seal bettween the gate and teh manifold, the gap is about 1/8 inch around the entire circumference of the inlet plunger... help me ut what should I do use thematal ring and grind down the ridge making it impossible to mount flush????

the ring is supposed to seat inside the wastegate when bolted down

Yea but when its not bolted down just sitting on oits mounting surface it sits too high and there is a gap bettween wastegate and mounting flange..... the gap is about 1/16th of an inch maybe more I dont think it should look like this....

When you tighten the bolts, the firing ring will seal against the flange.

really... So it is supposed to be a bit depressed ( is this to create the best posible seal?)... o and my wastegate is supposed to have a static spring rated to 7 psi and It feels like 15 pounds are needed to push down that pluger/diaphram.... is this because there is no vaccum assist or is this supposed to be easier??

The ring will stick way out until you tighten the bolts, then it will push tight against the wastegate piston and push it up to create a better seal.

Is it an SSAC wastegate? If I were you, I'd unscrew the top and double check the spring that's in there. I ordered mine with a 5.83 psi spring and ended up with a 14 psi spring, which would have killed my motor.

remember, psi is pounds per square inch.. its going to take more than 7 pounds of weight to push in the plunger.

it is an ssac and yes it was supposed to be 5.83 but it feels like 15ish i think i have the same prob u did it came with a red soft spring too tho should i install that???... o and the "firing ring did compress and make a prefect seal with the gasket! thanks

The red spring is the 5.83 psi spring.

Remember: You are supposed to use the ring AND the gasket. Not using the gasket will raise the boost a smidge. (more preload on the plunger)

wont having the gasket make more preload.... any way thanks alot I didnt even think of that I got some weird organic material gaskets and a stamped metal gasket the metal is a bit thicker.... i think im gunna use the others
