Re: wastegate dumptube *searched* (PnkRokCountryboy)
yes it is, keeps the engine bay clean and makes more power than no dumptube..... as for where it goes, just run it down so it stops below the oil pan.... thats it

All depends on what manifold you have.
Ben at Importparts.com has dumptubes for like $30-$40 bucks if i remember correctly. Also full-race and Lovefab have them as well..

Re: wastegate dumptube *searched* (BrokeAssWhiteboy)
I had mine coming out of the side of the front bumper when I had a body kit. It broke off once right before a local dyno day, and I wanst thinking about it and when I dynoed I made 223hp, and it was so rich it was off the chart. 2 months earlier when I got it tuned I made 317hp and the A/F was perfect. Ill find a pic so you can see that without the dumptube its blowing exhaust right near the inlet, Im lucky I didnt blow my engine after seeing the A/F ratio...As of now its directed into the fender well, shooting right at the tire.

Bluffton, huh, I guess you know Derick over at TruBoost? I used to live in Laurel bay back in the day. What do you drive? I have a 00 EBSI but I have not been there since being on leave in OCT 04. Got any pics of your ride?

Re: wastegate dumptube *searched* (wantboost)
you know a bigger wastegate only allows you to run lower boost...
Look at alot of the big turbo supra's running small wastegates. It allows for higher boost.

the smaller the w/g doesn't allow any higher boost than a large gate. boost is determined by the w/g spring pressure. the reason ppl run larger gates is better control of lower boost #'s with larger turbos so you don't get creep. manifold design plays just about as much of a role in this as wastegate size

it depends on what manifold you're using and how low of boost you want to go
if you run one of hte ram horn manifolds...you'll need a larger gate due to poor wastegate placement.
and if you run a t3/t04R or soemthing...and want to go down to liek 6psi...you'll need a larger gate.
for anything smaller than a 60trim on just about ANY manifold....a 38mm gate is usually good enogh, though

um, no.... i can run the same amount of boost on a 60mm wg as i can on a 3mm wg, the bigger wastegate just flows more, which is better at controlling spiking and creep. i have a 44mm wg currently but am looking into a 60mm hks style wg

You really only need a bigger wastegate when you know your wastegate is fully open and the boost starts creeping.

Re: wastegate dumptube *searched* (Flr Power)
right now im not worried about creep... 2liter ls.vtec.... fully built, ported polished head, radical cams... custom built gt series turbo, top mount or peakboost manifold, central wg location... a little direct port shot everynow and then
in the near future im getting a gt42r and bumping the direct port shot to 125.. thats when i start worrying about the 44mm begging for mercy
