wanting to turbo the z6, the RIGHT way
ok, i posted in the 92-00 forums, they told me i would get more info here. what i am wanting to do is basically a home made turbo setup: 1st gen mitsu turbo setup with intercooler, bov, wastegate, you know the basics, fuel upgrades such as injectors, rail, pump, again, the basics, and a chipped and tuned ecu. is this along with a properly tune what i need to make a dencently powered and reliable car.
note, not a daily driver, and i will be running 6-8 lbs on stock motor.

Re: wanting to turbo the z6, the RIGHT way (moops vs moors)
i thought you wanted MORE fuel with turbo cuz your would run hella lean on stock injectors and blow your **** up? or was that sarcasm? anyways, thanks for savin me money on the rail, and saying no to the fmu, just a pump and injectors sounds good to me. thanks

Yes, you want more fuel when being turbocharged... but with the fmu you have no way to fine tune your air/fuel's to the specified ratio that you want. On top of that it increases your fuel pressure dramatically. If you are running a 12.0:1 rate regulator, with 8psi of boost your fuel pressure will be about 140psi.
That is why running a nice EMS will not only control your fueling needs, but it will control your ignition timing which with boost needs to be retarded.
