Default Wanting to turbo My EK VTIR civic

Hello all, I'm new to the honda game, I have just up graded from a ford focus ST because I got bored of it. Wanting something with alittle more personality. So i have bought a 1996 EK VtiR civic. I have about a $3000 AUD dollar budget for turboing the car. I would like some advice on what the best parts for reliability and fun would be. I've heard I can can get a eBay turbo kit, but im a but sketchy on doing that. Ive also heard i can chase a reliable 220whp that will be fast enough to have fun and reliable, so i would be happy with that. Here are the specs for the EK. Cheers all!

You can probably do the rebuild with that budget but not get a turbo kit plus tuning ecu.

What do you mean by a rebuild? It's already got that stuff on the car. Thr budget is just for the turbo setup it's self.

Well the turbo kits on eBay are about 1000 with postage, But I don't know if a eBay turbo kit would be safe for the car. And a dyno tune is from around 800-1000 as well

B16a2 with a b18a2 head
Did you mean to say B18C2 head? Seems kinda weird to put a non-VTEC head on a VTEC block.

1) Get a used TD05 turbo from an EVO for 250-300$ and start from there.
Get a water/oil turbo feed / return kit from ebay or go-autoworks
Buy a chinese intercooler from ebay.
Get a walbro 255
A set of injectors 550cc +
Piece an intercooler piping kit from picgures online to get a ballpark on how many 2.5" curves and silicone hoses youll need.
Get blow off of your choise.Chinese stuff work also for that power level.
Go with the turbo charger on a shop to fab the manifold and the downpipe or even cut and assemble the intercooler piping.

or

2) get the cheapest turbo kit go-autoworks can sell to you.

It's a B16 head. Not a GS-R/VTi-R head. He made a mistake. Don't worry, though.

I have an old Kiwi manifold and HKS standard w/g that I no longer need. PM me if interested. You will need to find your own T3 hotside based turbo. Yes, this w/g configuration did creep a little but the old AVC-R and HKS w/g did an excellent job of controlling boost.

AC and PS mockup with an HKS T300S (old school T4(60-1)/T3 from the 90's). This mockup was done in the "junk room" of my third floor apartment.
