Default Want to go w/ Forced induction but have automatic?

Would this be advisable..... or should I start searching for a new car with a manual transmission?

more efficient my ***,
-mega parasitic loss through the honda slushbox
-weak transmissions
-low stall so you won't build alot if any boost by stalling it up
-slow shifting

Hondas are not LS1's who have an awesome auto tranny and we certainly don't have turbo 350/400's

Manual is the way to go don't listen to this guy

If you put an auto against a manual same set up....manual will win. Get a new car if you can. If you can't do a auto to maunal swap.

I'm sorry, you don't know what you are talking about. I have a boosted 2000 SS and I see a loss of 20-30 whp when compared to a similar setup on a manual lude.

Been there, done that.

Although I did love the boost with the auto, now that I swapped to 5spd the car is just a hella of alot faster and WAY more fun to drive.

My auto lasted a year (still in working condition) with NO tranny cooler or any mods to it whatsoever, I made the whp #'s below.

I would not recommend going over 200whp with a honda auto....

Best suggestion is sell for a manual, but if you don't want to, turbo first and your NEXT mod should be a swap. I have no doubts that the auto won't last forever. I consider myself lucky that my auto never broke after 30 track runs within a year and a descent ammount of abuse on it.

I looked at that and researched about it for 3 months before I decided to go turbo.

IMHO its not worth the 3 grand for 20-30whp on an auto.... mabye my own personal opinion but I nearly doubled my whp going turbo at 8psi (figure stock auto is mabye 110whp, I went to 189whp... thats a HUGE difference)

I never said it would be faster I was implying that with a SS it would be a better setup than a standed Auto.. Reson Being you can keep the revs up and shift at a higher rpm.. But also with that its still and Auto and there will be more Hp lost in a auto gear box than a 5sp gear box. But also with a TURBO by not closeing the TB to shift you keep the Turbo spooled and will have a more useble TQ Curve
