Default Want to build my d15z1 (vx motor)

So far I can't find after market rods for it. Due to the fact that the crank is smaller than the more popular d16. I was hoping to do a build with vitaras and some after market rods, and a vtec head.

Has any one done this? Or know of aftermarket rods that will work.

uh why not just pick up a z6 block ??? they go for maybe $20-50

i actually have a mint one for $50.. or ill even trade it for the vx one if the block is in running condition.

I would trade but I live in hawaii. I thought it would be cool to build this block if its possible. It has a good bore to stroke ratio.

I would get a z6 or a y8 but I have been having a hard time finding one in hawaii. There is no shortage of y7's I might just build one of those.

I had a built d15b7 block back in the day.. the rods were made by Crower and the Pistons made by Arias.

Be prepared to spend some loot!!

Pretty much whatever you do it will be cheaper to build a D16. Custom internals are $$$

Rods are the same length, but are smaller on the big end that connects to the crank.

journal sizes being different sucks, plus the z6 is pretty stout for what it is, seems to have alot more lubrication capability

I heard the JDM d15b has the same rods as d16s, so maybe get one of those for $500 if you think that the long stroke is what limits d16s, but i'd imagine the stock valve train would become a problem long before the stroke.

use a D15B crank, rods and pistons and you got a D15B sleeper.

If you want a set of the special pistons/rods, Ill sell em for a good deal; they could also be put into a Z6/Y8 as a OEM low-compression piston.

I have a crank, but ti spun a bearing and needs to be reworked; pm me with email andc info and Ill see what I can do about getting pics to you ASAP if interested.

If you wish to get rid of that Vx block, let me know as well; I have been wanting to replace my D15B block with a Vx block to throw heads off a little =P
