Unless you want to pay out the *** for another motor after you blow the one you half-***-turbo'd, you have to get a tune. Don't get cheap **** either. Ebay turbos, manifolds, wastegates, and blowoff valves are notorious for their own failures and can lead to blowing an engine.

PSI is not a factor in turbocharging a car. It is a calculation after all is said and done. Two cars with identical engines, both making 250HP with a turbo, will each run different boost pressures.
Two cars with identical engines, both running 7lbs of boost, will not make the same power. You need to develop a power goal, then find a manifold that suits it, a turbo and intercooler that will support it, and then a wastegate with a proper spring in it that will open when a certain amount of pressure is reached.
So quit shooting your mouth off when you have no clue what the **** you're talking about and attempt to **** talk someone else who obviously knows waaaaay ****ing more than you.

Its not psi that matters but cfm
A t25 at 7psi does not make as much power and move as much air as a gt42 at 7psi.
You asked for help and as you obviously don't know **** the best idea would be to not **** talk those that offer help and advice. Or no one will help you whatsoever... If anything we'll lie to you to cause you problems.

I like how you said "maybe" get a tune.
Save up a few grand and then start your project. Also read up on a bunch of different threads and get a better idea of what setup you want, and there you can start budgeting and collecting parts to do the build. Please don't do it half assed only to have the car blow up before it ever even hits a dyno.

Get the first Ebay kit you can lay your hands on. Anything with "JDM" in teh description is best. Make sure the manifold is stainless steel.

really maybe you should not turbo a car. There is more to boosting a car then just a turbo. You need a manifold, turbo, wastegate, charge pipe, down pipe, intercooler, injectors, map sensor, oil lines and tune. You need to rethink this turbo thing if you dont have much money! But what do I know

No money + turbo don't mix...
You HAVE to get a tune or you won't make it down the street 5 miles (based off the way Im pretty sure you already drive... Lke a dick)

After you get that Ebay kit, find an FMU and a Missing Link and you should be good. If you have any extra mad money get your hands on a SAFC/VAFC.
