walbro 255 to inline boush 044 loud whine after long trips
This engine has done 600+ hp daily driven for 3 years.
Fully built gsr turbo in dc integra.
I have a walbo 255 in tank going to boush 044 inline.
One day after long trip, my boush 044 starts being loud as ****. I notice my fpr is going from 50 to 55ish (ideally runs 55 steady).
So i un plug the boush 044. Then the walbro starts going loud...
I noticed from random testing (while pumps dont make noise) While its not whinning...i unpluged the walbro, and the boush made the same noise again. I plugged back in the walbro, and the boush stopped whinning.
Both have 13v going to them (whinning, or not whinning)
If the pump makes noise, i let the car set for about a hour, and its all good again.

Do you ever run your car to less than 1/3-1/4 tank? If so the Walbro pump is overheating, it needs the fuel to keep cool. I've seen a bunch of guys kill pumps by riding around with empty tanks. Probably ok to do every now and then for short trips, but I know I killed two walbros years ago due to low fuel levels.

the pumps are not going bad, the whining is simply because they are straining hard to suck fuel. I actually just had this same exact issue in my car...
the fuel pump strainer is clogged and is unable to flow enough fuel to satisfy what the pumps are trying to pull. the longer the car is running and bouncing around, the more crud that will stick to the outside of the strainer. when you shut it off and let it sit, some of the crud falls off the strainer because there's no suction to hold it there still. but then after running for a while, it'll clog up again.
drain the tank, clean out the tank of any crud or sand or small debris, and replace the strainer on the walbro. it will solve the issue completely.

Boush.... lol
*cough* Bosch *cough*
And having 2 inline pumps is really a waste. The Bosch can only move as much fuel as the walbro can supply it and if you aren't using the inline setup to run stupid high fuel pressures (like the old fmu setups that needed a booster pump to keep the stock pump from taking a **** at retarded high rail pressures) then just ditch the walbro and run the Bosch. It'll support 600hp on its own
