Default VTEC not engaging after new manifold install. HELP

i tried a search but i wasnt sure waht keywords to look under!
OK i have a del sol vtec with a b16a3 stock motor in it. My old setup was Spark racing mani with sc34 turbine 38mm wastegate. not sure what info you need on why its doing this.
About 3 weeks ago the spark racing mani cracked and i ordered a inline pro mani. since then the only other thing i have changed in my enitre car was the spark plug wires. But now my VTEC does not engage or is just barely engaging. i used to be albe to hear the crossover loud as hell when the wastegate was open even by just half throtle i could hear the crossover. But now with the new mani its wither not kicking in or its very WEAK! The car doesnt have the pull it used to have in the higher RPM.
A few ?s i have.
I was tuned on hondata with my old setup. I havent retuned since the new mani. does that matter? would that affect anything?
Also when i noticed it wasnt crossing over i checked my oil and i was overfull by about 3/4 of a quart!!! could that of done anything to it. i drainded it down to normal level but it stilll didnt help.
Oh yea i have no CELs either so im not sure. anyone else expierience this?
TIA
Ty

I had a similar problem like this. All I did was pulled the VTEC solenoid and cleaned it out. I got a Q-tip, used dry, didnt soak it with anything, and cleaned that mother out. After re-install, let her come to regular operation temp, took her for a spin, and WAH LAH, problem fixed.

Give this a try. I was doubtful but I figured what the heck, everything else I tried didnt work.

how long has it been since you put new oil in it? I know sometimes old oil will cause the solenoid not to function properly.

i hate to burst o your bubble but that wont help. your vtec is probably working fine, your just not hearing it. if it wasnt working then you would get a cel.

I wasnt throwing a CEL. But I knew it wasnt coming on because I couldnt hear it at all. This is when I was NA and had a short ram intake. That **** was loud when VTEC would crossover.

But what I mentioned earlier fixed my problem.

Have you tried replacing the VTEC Solenoid? Maybe your not getting enough oil pressure. Check the oil level and change the oil to

secondaries huh?? maybe we should check those, oh wait its a b16a, lol

we put straight 12v to the solenoid and it clicks, so now i think we are gonna try the oil pressure switch

He did say b16a3 in the first post, but whatever. For any future problems that you may have with VTEC, I recommend installing a vtec light, this helps to tell you if the ECU is sending the signal for VTEC or not. Some people say they are annoying, but I love mine, and I won't get rid of it. And, whenever I get a CEL or some problem (one that effects VTEC, the light won't kick on at 4400rpm's, then I deffinately know there is a problem)

Did you accidently unplug the speedo sensor or something? Doing that will cause VTEC not to engage, not to mention your speedo and mileage wont work either.

Speedo still works so it couldnt be unplugged. god i know it will be an easy fix i just want to know whats going on. we are going to try a whole other solenoid tomorrow and see what comes of that.
Keep throwing me ideas on what it can be.
Thanks

You said you cleaned the vtec solenoid but did you clean the filter that comes before it as well? Just checking.
