VTEC eliminating turbo single cam?
Looking for VTEC eliminating cam, i'm not even positive if mine's working right, i figure it's one less system to worry about and the cams are cheaper.
With a cam, what influence will it play with my powerband? Will a stock unbalanced crank be up to the task? I just have rods and lower compression pistons.
Any information is appreciated, thanks.

Great, so what am i going to do about a cam for it? I don't just want to kill VTEC, i want more power.

Re: (Pay2play killa)
Looking at future modifications and researching before buying. This gives me a few months to research the cams before making a decision.

I did a little reading on that Zex cam you suggested, i'm reading that cam is crap. I'm doing springs and retainers with a cam, i want something fairly agressive, it's not a daily driver (but it is more street driven than track).

That is one in a million. I can tell you right now, you won't loose power with this cam. Switching between stock and this cam, twice I could tell a huge difference in power. Maybe someone messed somethingup with their install, I think I bent the overhead assembly on my first try.

Re: (93turbo16)
Thanks for the input, i'll look further into this cam. Is it VTEC eliminating? I'm not seeing anything off hand if it is or not.
I'd prefer one specifically for turbo with high lift and short duration, enough for a loping idle would be even cooler.

Re: (93turbo16)
Crower seems to be the best option, and it's still pretty cheap.
Any dyno results of the Stage 3 vs Stage 2 with boost? Since they're the same price, i figure i'll go for the one offering the most power.

its very easy to lock the rockers solid on a SOHC. take apart the rocker assembly, switch the VTEC pins around and put something like a ball bearing or small nut into the 'non spring' side of the rockers. take it all apart and you'll see what i mean

I also use the 59300. It works awesome. Best ~$225 you can spend especially if you are putting springs, retainers anyway. This cam is very popular around the SOHC community.

the 59300 is the baddest cam on the market for the over the shelf grab. Crower and Web might be another look see.
The Vtack elim cam does not elim vtack it keep it in Vtec 100%
Do some more research bubba and youll be surprised.

How does it "keep it in VTEC 100%" if VTEC no longer exists?

I understand what he's saying...
VTEC is engaged constantly
Instead of the VTEC being activated at about 5500rpms or so?, the motor is constantly in VTEC. Meaning, usually the solenoid(sp) activates the VTEC at a certain rpm, but now that solenoid is always open. So hard to explain when you don't the proper terms and crap.

he's not even talking like that
he went from wanting to eliminate vtec by buying a cheaper non-vtec cam
to some guy saying that a 59300 engages vtec ALL The time....and him saying its eliminated agian
um...i guess i'm just ******* lost

Yeah, it means just that, eliminating VTEC, there's no more VTEC.
VTEC means Variable Valve Timing, when there's no more Variable Valve Timing, there's no more VTEC. If you want to get technical, you don't "Get in VTEC", you're always in it since both cam profiles have to do with it.
