Vtec does less power than no Vtec with boost
Hi all,
Thats my problem.
I put a turbo kit on my type R with rocket motorsport cams/springs/retainers
I rebuilded the base, (sleeves + news pistons/rings)
Everything is good when the Vtec is off (roading).
I changed oil after roading and before going on dyno, I found metal on magnetic oil pan nut (more than usual).
When I were on the dyno and put Vtec on, the power band of WHP/WTQ V.S. RPM engine dropped.
At 7000 rpm / Vtec off / 5 PSI, I did 202 whp, when I put the Vtec on, I dropped to 165 whp.
I heard the Vtec very well but whp dropped.
Can you help me ?
Thanks all !

either swap in some GSR cams or free up the exhaust restriction in the turbo setup. You either have a restrictive log manifold and/or small exhaust. A smaller cam will be a quick fix for you

i would think the cams are too big for your setup
what is your turbo setup, and what cams did you put in?
