i have a 92 integra,built
lsvtec,tuned and right around 600hp
i cant get a hold of c16 in my area anymore,
i was told sonoco 116 is the same as c16
and it will work.
im worried about my engine ,i dont want
it to go BOOM!
can i run it without problems?
any advice or knowledge on this problem?
retuning is about 3 hours away from where i live

I dont know who told you that sonoco 116 is the same as c16 but if I were you I would not take anymore advice from them
different companies
different additives
different octane
different tune
deffenitly go back to VP

go to vp's website and you can locate a dealer that way very quickly. q16 is also a great fuel from VP but if your already tuned on c16 then stick to it

The fuels are different. There was a post on in this forum a while back that explained the differences and I think Bisi actually came in and gave a really good description of everything. Do a quick search and you may be able to find it.

Re: vp c16 or sonoco 116
My turbo integra runs on pump and soon E85 but the engines i'm speaking of are 1400+ hp supercharged big block v8's that spend most of their life over 6000 rpm and for long periods of time. I know they are different animals, i was simply sharing what i have experience with. We have seen no increase/decrease in MPH or engine knock/EGT switching between the two on the same tune in a much more harsh environment than most motors on this site will ever see.

Re: vp c16 or sonoco 116
Sunoco is very good fuel just like VP I would say from seeing a ton of locals run on it as its available more readily around here than VP.
Maybe I am not understanding as I am not a tuning pro but I dont know why you would be so dramatically off on the tune between fuels as it seems suggested above? I mean yes I stick with the brand and type of fuel I am tuned on as it is consistant but I would think you could get away with running the Sunoco if your not running crazy timing and on the very limits with the C16 (since the Sunoco is slightly lower octane actually). Otherwise they are both non oxygenated leaded race gas with very similar properties.
Just curious, agian I am not a tuner... more curious thought above.
