Vortech SC Kit vs. Greddy Turbo Kit w/Intercooler
Hey guys... I'm about to return from deployment and I am going to start a new project as soon as I get back! Anyway before I start I want to get some advice from people who have had experience with the Vortech Supercharger kits and the Greddy Turbo kits.
I am debating whether I want a Vortech or Greddy kit and basically I am looking at the one that is going to give me more power off the bat.
I am trying to stay SMOG legal so I am not going to go with a different kit.
Almost forgot... This is going to be on a 01 GSR.

Re: Vortech SC Kit vs. Greddy Turbo Kit w/Intercooler (PRELUDE-GT35R)
That's what I was thinking... I read somewhere about the greddy kit not being able to make much more power without a new turbo... is that correct?
I was thinking about the change over to Turbo because my other civic was JRSCd and it was fun but I haven't experienced a turbo B series yet.

I've never been a fan of superchargers on Honda's. The turbo kit will give you WAY more potential for sure, and give you more hp in the end. Back when I had my turbo'd coupe I raced a s/c'd coupe and I killed him. We had similar mods, he got me off the line, but after second gear I walked him.

The Vortech S/C is overpriced. Yes, the peak gains are nice numbers, but the powerband is so narrow and useless.
You get the worst of both worlds with a centrifugal supercharger: lag and parasitic loss.
The Greddy kit has a lot of potential, has quicker spoolup, is cheaper, and has a much broader powerband.
